Support the Anne Frank Center
Help Us Build a Brighter, More Compassionate Future
The Anne Frank Center is the official partner of the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam for the United States and Canada. We exist to share Anne Frank’s story—not just as history, but as a living call to action.
Through powerful exhibitions, transformative education, and community engagement, we inspire people of all ages to choose understanding over hatred, courage over silence, and hope over fear.
When you give, you help carry Anne’s voice into the future. You help spark conversations that matter. And you help create a world that lives up to the ideals she believed in.
Your Gift Makes a Difference
With your support, we can:
Reach More Students: Expand educational programs that foster empathy, critical thinking, and civic responsibility.
Grow Our Exhibitions: Bring Anne Frank’s life and lessons to communities across North America.
Equip Educators: Provide resources and training that empower teachers to address antisemitism, racism, and injustice.
Honor Anne’s Legacy: Ensure her story continues to speak to new generations—with clarity, urgency, and hope.
Ways to Give
Whether you’re making a one-time gift, giving in tribute, or planning a legacy, your contribution sustains our mission and extends our impact.
Make a one-time or monthly gift

the ANNE FRANK SAPLING
View from the attic of the Secret Annex on the chestnut tree, photo is made in 2010. Photo collection Anne Frank Stichting, Amsterdam / photo: Cris Toala Olivares
Through a small attic window, Anne could see the sky, birds, and a chestnut tree. This connection to the outside world took on deep emotional meaning as she endured isolation and fear.
-
Anne Frank wrote three times in her diary about the Chestnut Tree she could see from the attic window of the Secret Annex.
On May 13, 1944, she wrote: “From my favorite spot on the floor, I look up at the blue sky and the bare chestnut tree, on whose branches little raindrops shine…”
For over two years, nature became an ever-growing source of comfort for Anne while in hiding.
-
In 2010, the very chestnut tree Anne wrote about fell during a storm. However, seeds were salvaged to grow original saplings at special sites around the world.
In the United States and Canada, new saplings have been planted at significant sites, such as the U.S. Capitol and the United Nations Headquarters in New York.
The Anne Frank Center is honored to be among the recipients of these saplings from the New York non-profit Anne Frank Center USA’s Sapling Project.
-
The special sapling will be planted adjacent to the beautiful Finlay Garden on the West side of the Anne Frank Center, which is in disrepair and needs immediate attention.
After a successful fundraising campaign and support from the state legislature and Governor’s Office, renovations will soon be underway.
Renovations will also include an outdoor learning space for school field trips and other visitors to reflect on their visit to the Anne Frank Center.
-
The Anne Frank Center is still accepting cash, check, or online donations to fund The Sapling Campaign.
